Games, Graded Raw
No sponsored fluff, no review-score inflation. We play games to completion, note where they crack, and write it down the way we'd tell a mate at the skate park — loud, honest and useful.
Founder's note
Started In A Flinders Lane Sharehouse
I'm Denny Marsh. SavageFireRealm started in 2019 as a text file of rants I'd send friends after finishing a game. It grew into a blog because I got sick of ten-out-of-ten reviews for games that were clearly held together with sticky tape and hope.
We're a three-person crew working out of a studio off Flinders Lane in Melbourne. We buy most of the games we cover, we finish them before we grade them, and we tell you exactly where a game shines and where it falls flat on the mini-ramp.

What we cover
Six Grinds, No Filler
Full-Playthrough Reviews
Every score comes after we roll credits. Expect 1,500+ word breakdowns covering pacing, combat feel, bugs and value per dollar.
Boss-Fight Guides
Step-by-step strategy for the walls people hit — souls-likes, bullet-hells and raid mechanics, with timing charts and loadouts.
Indie Spotlights
Weekly features on games under 50k wishlists, with dev interviews from the Melbourne and wider ANZ scene.
Patch Watch
We re-review games six months post-launch. A day-one mess that got fixed deserves a fair second look — and so does the opposite.
Hardware Rundowns
Controllers, handhelds and budget builds tested for weeks, not hours. Prices quoted in AUD, availability checked locally.
Backlog Radar
Curated lists of overlooked gems worth digging out of your library, sorted by how many hours you've actually got free.

What The Realm Says
"Finally a blog that finishes the game before scoring it. Their re-review of Cyberpunk saved me from writing it off — I'm 90 hours deep now."
Marcus T. — Brunswick, VIC
"The Malenia guide got me past a wall I'd been stuck on for two weeks. Timing charts actually made the difference. No 40-minute video, just the info."
Priya S. — Adelaide, SA
"As a small dev, their indie spotlight tripled our wishlist in a week. They actually played the demo instead of reading the press kit. Rare."
Jaymes O. — Fitzroy, VIC
